Aston Martin DBX pre-production prototype
The first Aston Martin SUV DBX will appear at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. It certainly isn’t the vehicle to live up to Aston Martin’s legacy, but it is the one to show us the future for the brand. Among the Cayenne, Urus, proposed Ferrari Purosangue SUV, and the numerous performance SUVs from premium manufacturers, the Aston Martin DBX has to be the most beautiful.
That is what the SUV gives you. This statement received a bit of backlash as many suggested that Aston Martin made a generalization about genders, which isn’t exactly nice nowadays. Nevertheless, Sproule did say that Aston Martin did extensive research into the topic of SUVs that that’s what its study showed.
However, demonstrating the abilities of the DBX on the Goodwood Festival of Speed Hillclimb clearly shows Aston Martin’s intentions with it. This will be a really fast SUV. One with a Mercedes-Benz-built V-8, and an Aston Martin-engineered V-12.

Aston Martin DBS Superleggera Volante
The most hardcore convertible in the Aston Martin lineup will, too, make a debut at the Goodwood hill climb.
It is a brute with looks to kill for. The company’s fastest soft-top can top out at 211 mph (or even more than 215 according to some Aston Martin officials), but it can achieve speed at a tremendous rate. That is really the most important fact on the short, and rather technical track at the Goodwood Festival of Speed. Who knows what time will it achieve.

Aston Martin Vantage AMR
Revealed only months ago, the Aston Martin Vantage AMR introduced us to a whole new 7-speed manual transmission. It is a transmission setup much lighter compared to 8-speed automatic ZF found in standard Vantage.
In short, the driver does not have to lift off when changing the gear.
While the manual transmission seems more than adequate for a car of this stature, this Vantage AMR actually takes a bit longer to reach 62 mph. It needs exactly 4 seconds for the job, compared with 3.7 seconds for a car with an 8-speed automatic. Nevertheless, it is a much lighter car (more than 200 pounds lighter), so I believe that you can acquire the lost time in the bends.

Aston Martin Rapide E
Aston Martin Rapide E will make a dynamic debut in the U.K. at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
Interestingly enough, the electric Rapid E is the most powerful Rapide in existence. Aston Martin engineers integrated two electric motors with a combined output of 600 horsepower just above the rear axles. The electric machine, along with the DBX, definitely showcases the future of the brand. The Rapide E can achieve 62 mph in less than 4 seconds and reach a top speed of 155 mph. It can also cover more than 200 miles on one charge.

Apart from entering several cars on the Goodwood hillclimb competition, Aston Martin will reveal the Lava Collection which features each of the four Vanquish Zagatos. All in all, it is a good year for Aston Martin at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
