First things first: the exterior
The new 911 – just like any other 911 before it – is pretty much a complete book as far as exterior styling goes. Of course, by definition, a tuner has to exploit an area that others don’t see and make it better.
For the new 911 Turbo and Turbo S, TechArt went for an aero kit that doesn’t mess up the car’s variable front splitter and adjustable rear wing.
Body kit components:
- front apron
- side skirts
- air blade-style side air intakes
- rear wing profile
- rear diffuser with aero fins
- roof spoiler
What’s more, the tuner says it will be offering its Formula VI center-locking forged wheels measuring 9.5×20 inches in the front and 12×21 inches in the rear. Biting into the asphalt is a set of Michelin Cup 2 tires.
As for the unseen tweaks…
TechArt also came up with a power upgrade for the Turbo S. With it, the 3.8-liter flat-six will crank out 700 horsepower (522 kW or 710 PS) and 664 pound-feet (900 Newton-meters) of torque. That’s a 59-horsepower (44 kW or 60 PS) and 74 pound-feet (100 Newton-meter) bump over the stock 911 Turbo S.
Perhaps the beefing up will make the Turbo S a tad quicker that it already is (0-62 mph/100 kph takes 2.7 seconds), however, TechArt doesn’t give out any info on that front, so we’ll leave it at that.
Besides the power and torque increase, TechArt will also sell you a sports exhaust system with automatic dynamic valve control (it’s also road legal, mind you) and a height-adjustable spring kit that can lower the Turbo S by 40 mm (1.5 inches).
Yes, there are goodies on the inside, too
On demand, TechArt will add a new touch to the Turbo S’ interior via a selection of materials such as leather, wool, contrasting stitching, aluminum, and carbon fiber. We can’t tell you how much those cost, as it depends on what you choose to have in the first place, and TechArt is not known for offering pricing info on its packs unless you enquire in person.
