Oi! For England! Bentley Celebrates Anniversary With UK-Only Mulsanne 95Oi! For England! Bentley Celebrates Anniversary With UK-Only Mulsanne 95

After spending World War I working on aircraft engines, W. O. Bentley established his automobile concern in 1919. Though his first production model didn’t hit British roads until 1921, the Volkswagen Group unit that bears his name is celebrating the 95th anniversary of their foundation with a UK-only, limited-edition Mulsanne.

Called simply the Mulsanne 95, the 15 cars to be sweated over by Bentley’s Mulliner division don’t feature a honking supercharger strapped to their engines, retro crazed-lacquer finishes, or Bentley Boys bobbleheads affixed to the dash. Don’t be daft, man, if you want a gauche Bentley, you’d send it to Mansory. The 95s do, however, feature a subtly darkened Flying B hood ornament, fancy 3D-illuminated sill plates featuring a “ninety five” script flanked by stylized opposite corners of the Union Jack, and your choice of three colors: Britannia Blue, Empire Red, and Oxford White.

Perhaps the most notable aspect of the 15 cars to be constructed is the interior woodwork. The walnut veneer’s sourced from a huge tree that fell during a storm in Lincolnshire back in 2007. Estimated to be between 300 and 400 years old, the heavily figured wood pairs with blue-and-white two-tone leather featuring red stitching.

The bad news for us? Intenders will have to be comfortable with right-hand drive, because the automobiles will only be sold in the UK. It is, after all, only proper to pay a bit of exclusive tribute to the land that birthed you.
