Powerlifting was clearly Britain’s strong suit on Monday in the warmth of Orlando, Florida, the Games’ host city, with another Team GB lifter, Nerys Pearce, collecting the heavyweight silver medal from George W Bush.
This is the second edition of the Games, which were the Prince’s brainchild and pit injured veterans against each other in sports such as wheelchair basketball and indoor rowing, and yesterday was the first of four days of competition.
