CVC planned to exit by floating F1’s parent company Delta Topco on the
Singapore stock exchange in 2012, a plan which was scuppered by the
financial crisis. CVC is now understood to be in talks with media mogul John
Malone’s Liberty Group and Discovery Communications which together want to
buy 49pc of Delta Topco.

Speaking to The Telegraph, Mr Ecclestone denied reports that he is considering
making a bid for the business and boosting his 5.3pc stake in Delta Topco.
“I’m not saying it won’t ever happen but there’s no point in me doing it at
the moment.” He added that CVC has put a $10bn price tag on Delta Topco.
