There are a lot of things to love about the Aston Martin Vulcan. 
First, it has a carbon fiber chassis tub. It also has a naturally-aspirated 7.0-liter V-12 engine that’s derived from Aston Martin’ s own GT3 race car. It’s good for 820 horsepower, too. In other words, it makes for an exhilarating track driving experience, the kind you can only experience in a track with no restrictions or regulators to worry about. Oh, and let’s not forget about the name. Props to Aston Martin for naming it after Spock’s race in Star Trek, even though the name was likely lifted from the Greek god of fire.
In any case, the Vulcan is all sorts of awesome and Top Gear Magazine’s own Ollie Marriage was able to get a first-hand experience on what it’s like to unleash the Vulcan’s wrath. This video perfectly captures Marriage’s reaction as he tries to piece together coherent sentences while taking control of the track-spec racer. I can’t blame Marriage for losing his concentration on more than one occasion, because if I was in his seat, I’d probably have a hard time even talking as the car goes full blast around the track.
Fortunately, I don’t have that responsibility, so I can just sit back and watch the entire video in all its awesomeness. On that note, here’s a suggestion to anybody who may want to watch it: put the volume on full blast. In this age of turbochargers, there’s still nothing quite like hearing a naturally-aspirated V-12 engine in all its symphonic glory.
