The former Mis-Teeq singer’s a capella rendition was greeted with great mirth on Twitter.

Viewers also questioned why Dixon, who had not released a single in five years had been chosen to sing. Presumably they had missed the memo that she is releasing an album this year, although we appear to have missed that memo as well.
Alesha Dixon? They really couldn’t find anyone could they?

Accent aside, Dixon’s delivery was met with a less than favourable response.

I’m not the greatest fan of God Save the Queen, but that a cappella rendition by Alesha Dixon at the #BritishGP was simply awful!!

Dear @SilverstoneUK. Please never let Alesha Dixon sing the national anthem again. Ever.

Other celebrity attendees at Silverstone included former Spice Girls Melanie Chisholm, Geri Halliwell and Emma Bunton.
Alesha Dixon? Spice Girls? Is this #F1 or the 1999 Brit Awards? Is Mark Morrison the driver steward?
