The Formula 1 return from holidays was a busy and exciting one for most of the drivers, but probably mostly for Michael Schumacher, who celebrates his 20th anniversary of his first race in F1 at the Spa-Francorchamps circuit before the Belgian Grand Prix; for Mark Webber who was fastest of the day in the practice sessions; for Bruno Senna who debuted in Lotus Renault in the morning session by skidding off the rain swept track; and most of all for Vitaly Petrov, the other Lotus Renault driver, who found suddenly that his steering wheel was locking up while he was driving through corners.

He described to journalists how he got into a corner and was in the middle of a turning of the wheel when it would no longer move and remained in that position until he took his foot off the throttle.

“I thought I was going to be in the wall,” Petrov said. “It wasn’t moving, but then I lifted and it moved. It was strange.”
