Spare a thought, too, for Hamilton. McLaren’s soon-to-be ex-driver has had
arguably the strongest season of his career.
He began it with the strongest car, did not put so much as a wheel out of
place, and yet still finds himself fifth in the championship thanks to
pit-lane errors, reliability issues and poor luck.
Had McLaren built on their early-season promise Hamilton would have renewed
his contract.
