The FIA recently announced that the World Motor Sport Council had decided that this season the race director will be able to make the decision to turn off the DRS zone during a race if there is too much rain and it becomes dangerous.
DRS was created to help overtaking, with a power boost from the moveable rear wing – and together with KERS, it made for exciting racing last year. Imagine having everything working at once at a circuit like Spa in the rain? No, rain already allows for the overtaking needs of Formula 1 – no need for artificial enhancements during a shower.
