A top-two finish from him or Mark Webber would also drag out the
title race.

WHO’S HOT?

Kimi Raikkonen’s name has been on everyone’s lips out here. The Iceman was
spotted making a visit to Williams’ Grove headquarters this summer and the
word is that they are close to an agreement, in spite of the Finn’s famously
astronomical wage demands. It would be a great coup for the team and the
sport, which could possibly see six world champions on the grid next year.

WHO’S NOT?

Williams’ Rubens Barrichello and Pastor Maldonado were 16th and 17th fastest
in the afternoon session. No wonder they’re looking to shake things up, both
on and off the track.

CIRCUIT

Beautiful but bumpy. Singapore has rapidly become one of the hottest fixtures
on the calendar; and not just because it’s 30C at night. As a night race it
is has a real energy, looks great with all the colonial buildings lit up,
and the fact that everyone is out until 4am just adds to the atmosphere. As
a street circuit it is also way more interesting than Valencia. This circuit
is bumpy, tiring and humid. I would rank it up there with Sepang, Interlagos
and Suzuka in the demands it places on the driver.

WEATHER

Hot and sticky.

You can lose up to 3kg in body weight during the grand prix. Sweaty.

PREDICTION

Sebastian Vettel.

Certainly for pole. How can you bet against a man who has taken 10 poles in 13
races season? As for the race, anything can happen. We have had a safety car
every year we have been here. As I say, I have a hunch the title race will
go on to Japan.
