“We are very optimistic that the change won’t affect us at all. You won’t
believe this but we had changes for Valencia anyway, which included no
holes, irrespective of the rule changes.”
Webber added that he hoped Red Bull’s luck would change after some near
misses in Canada in recent seasons.
“The team has been competitive for two, three or four seasons now and the
Montreal win hasn’t been there for us,” he said. “Seb came close last
year but lost concentration [spinning on the final lap] and Jenson took the
win.
“The way the season has gone, there is every chance we will do well here.
We were very, very strong here last year. We come here confident but not
crazy on confidence.”
