Vettel won four in a row from Singapore onwards, which is the next race up for
the F1 circus as the season finishes with seven flyaway events in 10
weekends.
“Our view is we have to keep pushing, keep our heads down focusing on
each race at a time and get the most that we can out of each single grand
prix,” added Horner. “So we will be pushing all the way to the
chequered flag in Brazil. It’s testimony to the hard work behind the scenes
that goes on in Milton Keynes that we’re able to do that and fluctuate
between the 2013 and 2014 car.”
Horner’s reference to next season is due to the fact F1 is facing its biggest
game changer for a decade as new powertrains are introduced.
Trying to balance resources is critical and Horner said: “In a perfect
world they (the titles) would all be done by Singapore. But that’s not going
to happen, so we have to keep our focus because you are juggling a lot of
balls and spinning a lot of plates. There’s resource that has to move
between the two programmes, and contrary to belief we’re not the biggest
team in Formula One. Therefore we have to manage our time efficiently and
effectively and people are working extremely hard and very long hours at the
moment. But the effort is rewarded through the success that comes and that’s
why motivation has never been higher.”
