It used to be synonymous with ancient history, with getting overweight, slow, and dinosaur-like. It used to be associated with people from another era of racing. The age of 43 that Michael Schumacher hit today on his birthday is now synonymous with a second wind, a new life and a man who looks as fit as all of his younger competitors. Schumacher may come from another era, but he is not out of place in the current one, and if he gets the Mercedes this year that is capable of winning races, he will be adding to his record of 91 victories. Of course, his teammate Nico Rosberg, 16 years his junior, will also be winning and challenging his old man of a teammate. But who would ever have thought it possible in this day of records being broken by young drivers, that Schumacher would still be there at 43. Or will he?
