The Pirelli motor sport manager, Paul Hembery, said over the last weekend that he did not think the tires this year were creating an unpredictability that was bad for Formula 1. And I must say, I agree. I think there is more sense to what we are seeing than meets the casual glance. For instance, aside from the tires, another thing that is making the difference is teams that did not depend on the devices -like blown diffuser – are now profiting by the rules that got rid of it this year. We have seen Williams now winning a race, and the Sauber almost won, and has had had better results.
