“Do you believe,” asks the song by Zero 7 made famous in Garden State, “in what you see?” What we see in front of us is a photo of a convertible version of the Noble M600 that we received from the English manufacturer. The answer to Zero 7’s question is no, don’t believe in what you see. Noble tells us there are no plans to produce a topless M600.
- Comparison Test: 2012 Chevrolet Corvette Z06 vs. 2013 Nissan GT-R vs. 2012 Porsche 911 Carrera S
- Comparison Test: 2011 Ferrari 458 Italia vs. 2011 McLaren MP4-12C, 2011 Porsche 911 GT2 RS
- Road Test: 2012 Lamborghini Aventador LP700-4
The photo, according to Noble, is the result of its own curiosity as to what an M600 roadster would look like; not, as the rumor goes, an effort to gauge interest in such a car. That’s disappointing. The Yamaha-sourced, twin-turbo 4.4-liter V-8—which can be found turboless in the Volvo XC90—makes 650 hp and propels the 2650-pound carbon-fiber rocket to 120 mph in 8.9 seconds. But seeing as how we can only dream of driving the M600 on U.S. shores—it’s not for sale or import here—we suppose dreaming of a topless M600 isn’t much more unbearable.
