“From lap one with this car, I feel comfortable,” Rosberg said. “OK, there is
still understeer and there’s not great balance yet and there’s still some
optimising to do. But I can push straight away, feel very comfortable and I
feel what’s going on and that’s very nice.”
Massa, meanwhile, was keen to play down the fact that he had set a lap time in
the 1 min 17s despite describing one in the 1-18s earlier in the week by
McLaren’s Jenson
Button as “incredible”.
“I think many people are thinking the same about me now,” the Brazilian said,
“but we can’t say what we’re going to have at the beginning of the
championship.”
Button finished the day seventh fastest, managing 83 laps before making a
precautionary stop on track in the dying minutes with what was thought to be
a loose wheel. The 2009 world champion will hand over to team-mate Sergio
Pérez for the final day today.
Meanwhile, Force
India have confirmed that a mechanic hit by test driver James
Rossiter on Thursday morning was merely shaken and bruised. Rossiter was
able to resume testing and later tweeted: “Happy to say my mechanic, Marcus
is OK. He has some bruises but that’s all. Looks like I’m buying the beers.”
