On Monday we presented this week’s shifter and asked you to identify the make and model from whence it came. Not many of you ventured a guess as to the car this week’s shifter belongs to, but those who did somehow recognized it  as a 1989 Merkur Scorpio. The first commenter to correctly identify it as such was zr245, who will receive a Save the Manuals button and sticker as a reward.

The Scorpio pictured is from our June 1987 issue. The five-door sedan’s 3.0-liter V-6 made 144 hp and 162 lb-ft of torque, and was hooked to a five-speed manual transmission. It was all good for a 0-to-60-mph run in 9.6 seconds.
