The market for “Sports Activity Coupes” is about to get bigger.
Aimed directly at the BMW X6 M, AutoGuide.com‘s spy photographers recently caught the Mercedes-Benz MLC63 AMG testing, the high-performance variant of Mercedes-Benz’s upcoming crossover. The MLC63 AMG is expected to feature the same 5.5-liter twin-turbo V8 found in the ML63 AMG; it delivers 518 hp.

Compared to the standard MLC, the MLC63 AMG seen in the spy photos features larger air intakes in the front bumper, bigger brakes, bigger wheels and a quad exhaust. The rear bumper also sports wider side sills and air outlets.
The production MLC will likely make its debut at next year’s Geneva Motor Show.
