“To be a great driver like [multiple champion Juan Manuel] Fangio you need
greatness in handling setbacks and challenges off the track, and he has
excelled in that.

“My affection and admiration for Lewis have been enhanced by events this
weekend. The relationship between Lewis and the team is stronger and better
and hopefully we will work together for a long time.”

Hamilton, meanwhile, is not looking too far ahead. “I am not looking at the
bigger picture, just looking at the season and I want to win the
championship,” he said.

“We could have a healthy lead in the championship if we had capitalised on
performance. But at some stage things will come together for our team and we
will get the points and finishes we deserve.”
