Robert Kubica, the Lotus Renault driver who had a serious accident during a rally race in February, will undergo another operation. This time it is in order to loosen up an elbow that has been locked, according to a report on Autosport.com. The operation should speed up the Pole’s recovery.

“With his elbow blocked, we haven’t had the chance to work on a full recovery programme as we would do normally,” Riccardo Ceccarelli, Kubica’s doctor, told AUTOSPORT.

“However, we have kept the other joints moving as much as possible, with the goal of having as much flexibility as we can and the greatest possible muscular mass available once the elbow is unblocked.”
