Bernie Ecclestone hailed the success of the Indian Grand Prix by predicting that it would even grow bigger. It reminds me a lot of when Formula 1 broke into the East Bloc countries for the first time, with the Hungarian Grand Prix in 1986, while it was still considered an East Bloc country. Now, Hungary is considered within F1 like just any other European race. Why not the same thing with India? I think that was maybe what Jenson Button was getting at too, when he spoke of the track turning into one of the greats….
