Hamilton has two poles out of three in 2014, so it’s hard to bet against him
or Rosberg again. After all that’s gone on at Ferrari
this week, I fancy Alonso to conjure up a bit of magic, especially if it
rains.
Race
1st – Lewis Hamilton
2nd – Nico Hulkenberg
3rd – Fernando Alonso
It’s got to be time for a bit of Mercedes bad luck – although Hamilton did
break down in Australia – so I have taken the ridiculous decision to presume
one of their cars won’t make it to the end. The Hulk will finally fulfil his
promise and get on the podium.
Bonus round
This week there are 25 bonus points available to whoever can predict the first
car to be out of the race.
My prediction: Pastor Maldonado, in a first corner shunt.
The rules
Just to remind you all, the rules are as follows.
I will post who I think will be the top three in qualifying, and who will be
on the podium in the race, and in what order. You are then invited to submit
your own picks below the comments.
You’ll get five points if a driver you pick is in the top three, and 10 points
if you get him in the right place. For some races there will be a special
bonus category. We will keep track of everyone’s scores over the course of
the season, to determine the overall winner, and each blog will post the
current league table.
The blog will stay open over the weekend, allowing everyone to carry on
discussing the action as it unfolds. We will also have a live blog for every
race, and on Monday there will be a look back over the race with our ‘Five
Things We Learned’.
The competition is still open to those who missed the first three races, and
qualifying for China.
