Almost everything in Formula 1 is based on meritocracy. Therefore it is a little bit of a surprise – just a little – to see that the third placed team, Ferrari, this year will earn more from Formula 1’s division of the spoils of its commercial rights and prize money than either the winner of the titles, Red Bull, or the second placed team, McLaren Mercedes, according to the calculations of Autosport magazine in England.

In an article, Autosport has calculated that Ferrari will have earned $104.6 million, McLaren $84.8 million and Red Bull $93.1 million. But Ferrari is Ferrari, right?
