Ecclestone described Bluewaters’ claim as “tiresome” and “absurd”, denying
that the offer put together by founder John Gregg to pay 10 per cent more
than any other bidder was cast iron.
“He put it in writing that no matter what anyone else paid he would give 10
per cent more but unless there is a bank guarantee it doesn’t really
matter,” Ecclestone told CityAM. “His claim is an absurd claim.”
