Joining the previously announced Chevrolet concept cars for the 2012 SEMA Show will be the American automaker’s Malibu Turbo Performance concept.
The Chevrolet Malibu Turbo Performance concept features a 2.0-liter, turbocharged four-cylinder engine under the hood which in stock form pumps out 259 hp. To garner the attention of show goers out in Las Vegas this year, the automaker gave it a Berlin Blue Tricoat exterior paint job along with a more aggressive exterior thanks to a body kit with a new front splitter, side skirts, rear diffuser, and trunk spoiler.
Subtle changes to the exterior include a new lower grille, fog light grilles with red surrounds, clear taillight lenses, and turbo badges. 20-inch wheels were mounted on all four corners. Suspension modifications include HiPer Strut front suspension and rear springs while six-piston calipers in the front combined with two-piece, cross-drilled rotors give the Malibu Turbo plenty of stopping performance.
Additional horsepower comes in the form of a prototype cold-air intake. On the inside, Chevy gave its Malibu a set of Recaro Sport seats that have been done in a Jet Black leather finish with Navy Blue suede and red contrast stitching.
The American automaker also revealed that more will be heading to the convention center including a 2014 Impala Concept, several Corvette models, and of course plenty of customized Camaros.
