Horner was quick to distance himself from the comments, describing Ecclestone
as “irreplaceable” and stressing that he was committed to Red Bull “for the
foreseeable future”.
Montezemolo said that he expected “strong changes” at the FIA, condemning
penalties given to his driver Felipe Massa and Mercedes’ Lewis Hamilton at
the season-ending Brazilian Grand Prix last weekend.
He also described the decision of the FIA’s International Tribunal to hand
Mercedes nothing more than a reprimand after they conducted an illegal tyre
test in May as “a bit strange”.
