Gribkowsky had been responsible for managing the sale of bank Bayern LB’s take
in Formula One to private equity firm CVC Capital Partners.
But Ecclestone denies the claim, saying he paid the money to stop Gribkowsky
exposing his tax arrangements, which he says are legal but complex.
Ecclestone also spoke about the recent wedding of his daughter Tamara in Cap
Ferrat on the French Riviera, a three-day celebration for which she took
over an entire hotel.
He described the nuptials as “a huge affair” which were too
extravagant, and told how he left before the end.
He said: “I went to my daughter’s wedding last week and walked her down
the aisle.
“But I didn’t go to the celebrations the next day. I went home. I was
there to do a job [give her away] and was happy to do that.
“I didn’t want to hang around. The whole thing was a huge affair, too
much really”
