“I was just trying to keep myself busy, to keep my mind on lots of
different things,” said Hamilton.
“It would have been easy to stray and think about events that have
happened over the past week, so I was just taking pictures and focusing on
something different.
“I had nothing to do in the garage, so I was just taking lots of
different shots for the fans because their support has been incredible as
always. It’s been very much appreciated.”
As Hamilton and team-mate Jenson Button both recognise, the final hour of
practice tomorrow ahead of qualifying – with conditions expected to be more
favourable – are likely to be frenetic.
Hamilton added: “That’s the challenge, everyone is in the same boat.
“It’s going to be very interesting trying to find the correct set up in
the short space of time we’ll have tomorrow.
“Hopefully our simulator has helped us so we are best prepared.”
Button added: “Hopefully it’s blowing over and we can get down to
business tomorrow.
“It’s been such a long break so we just want to get out there and enjoy
ourselves and get as much information for this weekend.
“So P3 is going to be a lot busier than normal. As long as it’s not like
P2 then everyone is going to be out straight away to get some mileage in.
“We’ve heard it’s better weather over the next two days and hopefully
the Spa special climate is as we think it will be tomorrow.”
The likes of Red Bull’s Sebastian Vettel could not help but feel sorry for the
fans who braved the rain and cold to witness very little on-track action.
“It’s a shame when there’s so much water, as we’d love to go out on
track more, but you can’t,” said Vettel.
“It’s a shame for fans around the track. It was also quite windy and
probably not nice out on the grandstands.
“Hopefully they can come back tomorrow with dry clothes and we’ll have
some sunshine – that’s the forecast anyway.”
