“I am getting more confident with the team. I am learning how to work
with my engineers, all these things are very important for the race results
because if you don’t know your engineer, if you don’t know the quantities,
the relationship is not clear,” he said.
“Last year I came after the half point of the season and without testing,
without proper preparation, and the people judge me for my inconsistencies.
I had some good moments especially in qualifying and people were like ‘oh my
God this is really good’, but then some races were not so consistent,”
he added.
Senna currently lies ninth in the driver’s standings after collecting 14
points from the first three races of the season, more than the Williams team
picked up in the whole of the last campaign.
“I think this year is where I will be able to show whether I am here by
merit or not and hopefully it will be a positive answer,” he said.
