“Maybe I will take some time out,” said Sutil, whose parents are both
professional musicians. “Maybe I will do something completely different,
think about things in peace.”
During the two-day trial the Munich court room heard testimony from various
witnesses although not from Hamilton, who was unable to attend because of
prior commitments. Hamilton said in a written statement to the court that he
could not remember the details clearly.
Sutil, who claimed he had meant to throw the contents of his champagne glass
over Lux rather than hit him with the glass itself, said he had apologised
and tried everything to settle with Lux out of court. According to Sutil,
Lux demanded a “double digit million sum” in compensation and a voluntary
multiple-race grand prix ban in the middle of last season.
“At least I shook Mr Lux’s hand,” Sutil said. “That’s a good thing.”
