The baby Ferrari grows up in a big way.

Ferrari’s next-generation California is here, following nearly two years of advance notice, and it’s clear the brand’s entry-level convertible has been through the wringer. For 2015, the California gets an all-new twin-turbocharged V-8 engine, new bodywork, and a fresh interior. We already knew about the force-fed mill, as well as Ferrari’s intention to have the California hit 200 mph, and the good news is that both prophecies appear to have played out in the production car.

The big news is that, taken as a whole, the thing is a whole heck of a lot manlier-looking than the outgoing model, which started life more or less as the boulevardier of the Ferrari family. The California did get a rather successful infusion of sportiness for 2013, but it still clearly anchored Ferrari’s lineup from the bottom. We’ll be bringing you full information soon, but in the meantime, feast your eyes on the latest scorcher from Maranello.
