Sebastian Vettel, the championship leader at the Red Bull team, was the fastest of the day in the practice session in Singapore, finishing first on the time sheets in the afternoon practice, ahead of Fernando Alonso, Lewis Hamilton and Felipe Massa.
Vettel can win the drivers’ title this weekend, but he said he is in no rush. Let’s hope not! There would be five races left without the title race.
Still, there are other joys to F1, like great racing AND great travel. Singapore reminds me a lot of the Monaco Grand Prix and even the Canadian Grand Prix, in terms of how the race occupies such a central part of the life of the city – to say nothing about the other parallels of these races near the water, with great nightlife, etc.
