Nissan is recalling about 13,535 Frontier pickup trucks over concerns that an electrical short circuit may cause a fire.
The issue is a circuit breaker that may have been installed incorrectly, allowing a wire harness to potentially contact a metal bolt on the A-pillar. This bolt can wear through the harness, potentially leading to a short circuit which can cause a fire. Power to the seats and sunroof can also cut out as a result of the problem.
The problem affects model year 2012 through 2014 trucks, and Nissan has said that it knows of no accidents or injuries as a result of this problem. Nissan will contact owners and fix the issue, free of charge.
