Nissan is the latest automaker to offer owners affected by the U.S. government shutdown a grade period on vehicle payments.
Qualified Nissan and Infiniti owners who are affected by the shutdown will be allowed to delay their car payments up to three months without suffering penalties.
“Nissan Motor Acceptance Corp. is sympathetic to any of our customers who find themselves in difficult financial circumstances-many times outside of their control-and we want to provide assistance to help them through those times of uncertainty,” said Mark Kaczynski, president, NMAC. “Our customers’ needs are the No. 1 priority at Nissan, which is why we have this program available on an ongoing basis.”
Earlier this week, Hyundai announced that it would offer a 90-day extension to its customers. An estimated 800,000 workers are being affected by the closure.
