Nissan will begin selling its luxury Infiniti brand in its home market.
For decades, the Skyline nameplate has been sold under the Nissan brand. But when the new Skyline sedan hits the Japanese market later this year, it will be sold as an Infiniti. The Skyline, which is the new Q50 in North America, will be built in a plant in Tochigi Prefecture.

Nissan plans to sell its Infiniti brand at existing Nissan dealerships in Japan, and currently has no plans to establish an exclusive sales network. Nissan hopes by launching its Infiniti brand in Japan, it can help capture the growing demand for upscale cars in its home market.
