Hamilton, meanwhile, said his full focus was on winning races following
suggestions that his lifestyle is proving a distraction. “I still love doing
that stuff,” he admitted of his shoulder-rubbing with celebrities. “It’s
still awesome when you hang around with people like that. It’s strange when
you look at your phone and think ‘I can call that guy’. But at the moment
there are more important things to do. That is somehow to get this Formula
One
career at its peak because I don’t feel it’s at its highest.”

Indian driver Karun Chandhok has told The Daily Telegraph he does not expect
yesterday’s bomb attack in Delhi to have any bearing on next month’s
inaugural Indian Grand Prix.

“The attacks have clearly been politically motivated,” Chandhok said. “They
have targeted areas such as Parliament and the High Court. I cannot recall
sporting events such as the IPL or the Champions League or the Commonwealth
Games having problems. Geographically, too, the track is in Greater Noida,
which is actually in Uttar Pradesh, a different state from Delhi.”
