TRACK SPACE

The Spa Circuit is 4.3 mils long and Monaco is 2.07 miles – the average track
is around 3.5 miles. For a race to be called a Grand Prix, it should have a
race distance of at least 186 miles.

PITS AND PADDOCK COMPLEX

Plenty of room is needed. Changes in the elevation of the track are considered
a major plus in Formula
One
racing, but could they be incorporated into the Olympic Park?

FLEXIBILITY

F1 races on public roads (eg Monaco, Singapore) but London may need to be a
mix of existing roads and new track with some semi-permanent structures.
Grandstands could be temporary.

LONG STRAIGHTS

London could do with one on start-finish and a back straight. The ones in
Korea and Abu Dhabi are both over 0.6 miles, which is needed for
slipstreaming/creating big braking zones and overtaking zones.
