After living in the unknown territory of the Indian Grand Prix two weeks ago, the Formula 1 circus returned to more familiar territory today for Sunday’s Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. And many of the drives expressed their delight at the sunny, dry, comfortable surroundings.
Heikki Kovalainen remarked that he loved all these exotic flyaway races because they generally have excellent golf course, and he had already played a couple of games here in Abu Dhabi….
Fernando Alonso, who lost the title here last year in a terrible race for his Ferrari team, even said he just loved coming here and enjoyed a swim in the pool of his hotel this morning, overlooking the beautiful track, and what a great place to be.
