2,846 BMW vehicles are being recalled for a possible fire risk. Affected models include 2011 5-Series, 5-Series Gran Turismo, 2012 6-Series Convertible, 7-Series, X5, and X6.
No injuries have been reported due to the recall, which is being caused by a circuit board for the auxiliary water pump that can overheat and cause a fire. The German automaker will begin notifying affected owners and dealerships will replace the water pump for free.
