Believe it or not, this year marks the 30th birthday of BMW’s hot M5 sport sedan, and so the automaker has released the obligatory YouTube video to commemorate the event. In the video, a contemporary M5 can be seen burning out, drifting, and having a light show played across its flanks (we don’t know why—maybe because Europe?). And there’s a guy holding balloons in M’s signature red, white, and blue colors. Yay!

It’s quite cool, although despite briefly showing the previous-generation M5s in line-drawing form, we wish it had more tire-squealing action featuring the original M5. At the very least, we needed a half-second of footage depicting the epically gorgeous and amazing E39 model. Still, if your day was lacking tire smoke and pure M5 action, here’s your fix:
