Amidst the ongoing investigation on the Tesla Model S fires, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) has granted the model year 2014 Model S with its five-star safety rating.
Given that the Model S didn’t undergo any major changes for the 2014 model year, it’s no surprise that it retains NHTSA’s five-star rating. The American automaker is still awaiting feedback from the agency regarding the investigation into recent fire incidents.

The German Federal Motor Transport Authority, Kraftfahrt-Bundesamt (KBA) recently concluded its investigation into the Model S fires and stated that there were no manufacturer-related defects or need for further action.
