Volkswagen isn’t changing much about its mid-size Touareg SUV for 2013—some new wheels and interior trim—but the lusty diesel TDI model will get a power bump from 225 hp to 240. This is hardly surprising, given that the Touareg’s 3.0-liter diesel V-6 also does tours of duty in the Audi Q7 and new Porsche Cayenne diesel, the latter of which also is powered by the 240-hp engine. (The Q7 apparently soldiers on with the 225-hp iteration for now.) Although VW has not yet released torque figures, we expect the Touareg’s diesel will still make the same prodigious 406 lb-ft as it did before.
