As expected, the MINI John Cooper Works GP has made its American debut at the 2012 LA Auto Show today.
Boasting a turbocharged 1.6-liter powerplant with 218 hp and 192 lb-ft of torque, the MINI JCW GP packs quite the punch in a little package. It’s already turned in an impressive lap time on the Nurburgring at 8 minutes, 23 seconds and some lucky buyers will be able to get their hands on one in America.
It isn’t just all about what’s under the hood of the MINI JCW GP though, the British automaker has placed an emphasis on the vehicle’s handling in addition to its aerodynamics with a new front spoiler, front bumper, and rear diffuser. An adjustable coilover suspension also allows enthusiasts to lower the vehicle by .79 inches.
MINI will only be producing 2,000 units of its John Cooper Works GP model, making it quite limited.
